Song(s) of the (past several) week(s)

My bad for failing to update recently, so to make it all up, here are… several songs this week~ This batch is a mix of both Chinese and Korean songs, from new albums, and old! (So many albums and songs came out in the past few weeks. Have you heard of them all yet? If not, enjoy!)

Without you by U-Kiss
First up is Without you by U-Kiss, released in their studio album Only One on February 3, 2010 (back when Kim KiBum and Alexander Lee were still in the group). Very up-beat, and incredibly addicting. Almost guaranteed to get you hyped up and bouncing up and down before the song ends. Enjoy all 3:19 minutes of it

Tonight by Big Bang
Title track from Big Bang’s latest album, Tonight, as all of you Kpop fans know already. Oddly enough, this song didn’t immediately click with me at first, but, if you repeat it a few times, and watch the MV… well, let’s just say magic happens. Flashy? I think so. Bouncy? A definite. Addicting? Agreed. Popular? Nah, more like THE song that everyone knows.
P.S.: Music composed by: G. Dragon. Lyrics written by: G. Dragon. If that’s not talent, then what is? Also, what’s up with his outfits in the MV? … Oh well, just adds on to his appeal I guess (what a cool guy).

Off my mind by Henry (from Super Junior-M)
Everyone’s also talking about Super Junior-M’s hit song “Perfection.” However, that song doesn’t have that much appeal to me (mainly because I didn’t realize they were singing in Chinese at first >.>), though Henry’s solo song “Off my mind” seems to do the trick! I’m captivated by the catchiness of the song and how clear his voice is, especially during the transitions between Chinese and English. But, what’s more amazing is the fact that he composed and wrote the lyrics to the song. Essentially, it’s his song and only his song. I’m just sad that it’s not AS popular as it can be.

Chinese Lyrics:
I go Cra Cra Crazy
Baby

You got me goin crazy, crazy, crazy, yea
Oh Baby baby baby

Girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya
Girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya(off my mind)

Babeh)
So take my hand and baby don’t let go

You got me goin crazy, crazy, crazy, yea
Oh Baby baby baby

Girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya
Girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya(off my mind)

(My Love)

Girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya, , off ya
Girl

English translation:
Girl, when I see you, I go Cra Cra Crazy
I just want you to be my Baby
I want to see through your heart, but I can’t,
(For now,) can I hold your hand?

Perhaps you’re also thinking of me
You got me goin crazy, crazy, crazy, yea
If we’re together, I’m willing to do anything
Oh Baby baby baby

My love, I’ll give it all to you
I’ll be here
My heart, won’t give up
You are my one and only
Girl, this isn’t an accident. You are my girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya
My love, I’ll give it all to you
I’ll be here
My heart, won’t give up
You are my one and only
Girl, this isn’t an accident. You are my girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya (off my mind)

I don’t care if the sky falls down, I won’t regret it,
Let me solve all your problems (let me babeh)
Just say OK, just follow me
So take my hand and baby don’t let go

Perhaps you’re also thinking of me
You got me goin crazy, crazy, crazy, yea
If we’re together, I’m willing to do anything
Oh Baby baby baby

My love, I’ll give it all to you
I’ll be here
My heart, won’t give up
You are my one and only
Girl, this isn’t an accident. You are my girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya
My love, I’ll give it all to you
I’ll be here
My heart, won’t give up
You are my one and only
Girl, this isn’t an accident. You are my girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya (off my mind)

Oh, How should I tell you, (how should I tell you)
What should I do? (what should I do)
Have I (sacrificed) enough?
My feelings for you are too strong~ too strong~ (My Love)
I definitely don’t want to let go

My love, I’ll give it all to you
I’ll be here
My heart, won’t give up
You are my one and only
Girl, this isn’t an accident. You are my girl
I can’t get my mind off ya, off ya My love, I’ll give it all to you
I’ll be here
My heart, won’t give up
You are my one and only
Girl, this isn’t an accident. You are my girl

Waiting for you by Anson Hu (胡彦斌)
The oldest song of all of them, dating all the way back to 2004 (I believe it’s actually an insert song in the Taiwanese drama Love Contract). But no worries. It’s still good; incredibly beautiful, as expected for a song composed by the singer. It’s a nice contrast to all the bouncy songs in this medley: slow and sweet, like a lullaby~ ^^

Baby
Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you
Waiting for you (to) kiss me (in) the night
Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you
Waiting for you (to) come here to my dream
Waiting for you, waiting for you 直到永远

Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you
Waiting for you (to) kiss me (in) the night
Waiting for you

Waiting for you, waiting for you, waiting for you~

Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you,
Waiting for you (to) kiss me (in) the night
Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you
Waiting for you (to) come here to my dream
Waiting for you, waiting for you
Waiting for you~

English translation:
Golden shoes accompanied by music,
Baby, your eyes are deep pools of water:
Suddenly clear, suddenly mysterious,
Hiding unbelievable beauty.
Just let me feel dizzy, like standing near the edge of a cliff.
Who knew that once I open my eyes, you’ll disappear?

Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you.
Waiting for you to kiss me (in) the night.
Cinderella, why did you leave me? I’m missing you so.
Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you,
Waiting for you (to) come here to my dream.
I’ll lead you in an endless dance,
Until your black hair turns silver.
Waiting for you, waiting for you,
Until forever.

Waiting for you…

Waiting for you, waiting for you, waiting for you~

Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you.
Waiting for you to kiss me (in) the night.
Cinderella, why did you leave me? I’m missing you so.
Waiting for you, I’m waiting for you,
Waiting for you (to) come here to my dream.
I’ll lead you in an endless dance,
Until your black hair turns silver.
Waiting for you, waiting for you,
Waiting for you~

Song of the Week: Angela by Super Junior

I recently discovered this and almost immediately became addicted (like all the other bouncy, happy kpop I listen to). This particular song dates back to 2009 when Super Junior released their 3rd album, Sorry, Sorry.

Anyways, Kyuhyun, Donghae, and Ryewook start off this song and in my opinion, they’re all one of the best vocalists in the group. I love how their beautiful, high-pitched voices are used to illustrate an innocent, sincere heart that has fallen deeply in an unrequited love. What a lovely introduction to a song about an impossible, bittersweet romance ~ ^^

Although usually unrequited love songs are slow songs, filled with pain and the desire to be noticed, this one is different. As I mentioned before, it is a rather bouncy, happy song depicting satisfaction with just staying as friends and watching from afar. They easily express genuine feelings, which complements and influences the overall mood of the song.

I’m not sure why (maybe because I’m getting too obsessed), but the vocals of this song seem to fit a lot better than other songs. Donghae, Ryewook, Yesung, and Kyuhyun’s parts seem to shine brightly in this song. It is their vocals parts that seem to be carrying the sorrow, depressed emotions that are subtly hidden within the song while everyone else seems to contribute in the chorus and the overall cheerful, optimistic mood.

Anyways, check it out! I love it~
P.S. I recommend watching the live version even though I personally don’t usually watch live. But for this song, they look like little kids having a great time on a playground ^^. It’s so cute and helped me appreciate the song more.

It’s almost Thanksgivings! Can’t wait for that stuffing/turkey/biscuit/other delicious food all over the world~ I hope y’all have an awesome break!

Song of the Week: Bye Bye by SS501

One of the older SS501 songs, dating all the way back to 2006~ But it’s still good; yeah, still good ^^

This is definitely one of the more bouncy, sweet love songs from SS501. It’s just…depressing to think that it’s not one of their more well-known popular songs.

Well, anyways, if you’re looking for a nice bouncy song to brighten your day, look no more because this is it! Super catchy, and super cute lyrics (about the sweet separation of a couple after a date), as expected from SS501. I personally find it hard to be stay down in the dumps after listening to it, but, maybe that’s only because I’m pretty obsessed with them. Or, maybe it’s because they sound so lively when they sing, almost like a reflection of their own feelings that portrays an image of their innocent, boyish childhood.

Well, whatever the reason, make sure you check it out! You won’t regret it…unless you’re not into five flower boys singing up-beat love songs…

P.S. SS501 coming back with an album in 2011! Who else is excited, raise your hands! ^^

…WHERE THE HELL ARE THEM MK/PK RECAPS?!

…So…about those…yeah, I kind of got addicted to Super Junior (#1 Trend on Twitter! What now?) and I’m post-poning my Mischievous Kiss recaps. Technically I could continue with my recaps, but I would rather not because I know from experience that if I’m not completely into something, my blog posts will come out REALLY bad, and no one wants that. I’m not sure if this is temporary, or if it’s permanent (I’d like to think it’s only temporary, but you never know). Anyways, for sure I won’t be doing any recaps in the upcoming week because I’ve got two midterms on Friday (so screwed!!!).

Thank you to all my lovely readers, and I’m terribly sorry to be unable to meet your expectations. Enjoy the rest of the series~ I’ll have some major catching up to do soon, and hopefully, y’all will continue reading my blog, even after the series ends (what a depressing thought!)

Love you!

Mischievous Kiss Ep 11: Love drama galore!

Episode 11 has to be one of the best episodes by far! What could beat the introduction of another Oh Ha Ni fan in our already complicated love…pentagon?

Anyways, Kim Gi Tae sure has the guts to ask Ha Ni out, especially since the whole school knows that she has this huge thing for Seung Jo. Well, props to him for being brave enough to confess…very publicly. He does have excellent timing. Just what the show needed to speed up the love drama and start instigating some action from our all too calm and laid-back boys. Like always, Bong Joon Gu quickly took the bait and immediately treated Gi Tae as an enemy. Who wouldn’t, if you find some guy trying to make a move on your girl? (Unless you’re Baek Seung Jo I guess >.>).

But, I don’t think we cay say Seung Jo completely disregarded Gi Tae’s sudden feelings for Ha Ni. I am pretty sure I detected surprise and jealousy from his eyes when our new “couple” was discussing the activities for their date. But, he could very well have been analyzing Ha Ni’s actions, trying to figure out her motives and what her next move may be. For the sake of the drama, let’s all hope for the former rather than the later. ^^

And I can see Seung Jo’s mother enjoys playing matchmaker for all the young folk in the drama. She’s so cute when she’s “researching” (aka: stalking) and plotting ways to get Ha Ni and Seung Jo together, even though her plans generally have fruitless or even a counter effect. Don’t worry, Seung Jo’s mom. I’m sure the vast majority of us are on you’re side, wishing for Ha Ni and Seung Jo to quickly get together…but not too quickly; we still want to see more drama and comic relief!

But, is it just me, or was the ending extremely confusing? I loved how Baek Eun Jo become a warm gentleman and has stopped bullying Ha Ni. However, he seemed too nice, and too overly prepared in the little stamp hunt at the end. Also, what exactly was he doing, hiding behind the tree when Ha Ni fell asleep dreaming that she was kissing Seung Jo? And did that kiss ever happen? If so, where did Seung Jo disappear to? We’ll all have to wait for the highly-anticipated episode 12 to find out!

Character Update: Yoon He Ra and Bong Joon Gu

I really hated Yoon He Ra this episode more than previous ones. She seemed more stuck up and full of herself, confident that she is a better match for Seung Jo than Ha Ni. That bouncy, excited atmosphere radiating from her when she found out that Ha Ni was “dating” Kim Gi Tae and the fact that she basically treats Ha Ni as air was too much for me to tolerate. But, I guess you can’t blame a girl for acting like that, especially when it seems like you are so close to winning your man’s heart because the annoying parasite who’s been clinging on to him might disappear off the face of the earth very soon. If I was in her shoes, I’d probably be just as exuberant. BUT, I’m not am I? And we’re all rooting for Ha Ni, aren’t we? Well, since that’s the case, I think this picture fits He Ra’s stuck up personality VERY well. This ruffled, uncivilized appearance really suits her, especially in this episode. Good job make-up artist! 😀

Again, we are reminded of Jong Gu’s sad love story full of broken hearts and one-sided affections. Unfortunately, I don’t think receiving Wang Kyung Soo’s love advice was a good idea, especially since all of this so-called theories sprouted from his training with Ha Ni (just look how…successful her love life is!). So far, Ha Ni’s Love Training sessions have produced such results: boundless, unpredictable events that cause embarrassment and rumors; futile attempts to win the other person’s affections; and (Joon Gu’s story is probably the best of all) a boring, soporific confession. But, you have to hand it to him: he is one dedicated man. And the fact that Ha Ni has not fallen for such a loyal pursuer further shows how much she loves Seung Jo. Reguardless, no matter how desperate Joon Gu has become, his confession scene was, without a doubt, an excellent source of entertainment. I just feel so sorry for the poor guy because no matter how hard he tries, we all know that Ha Ni will never become his. What a depressing ending for such a love-struck teenager.

Photo Gallery–Photo Recap: I’m trying something new out here. I took some pictures from their little “Stamp Hunt” extravaganza that I feel like sharing. Plus, I’m a little too lazy to write a full-fledged analysis about this segment. Well, after all, a picture is worth a thousand words! Enjoy my lovely readers~

Ha Ni and Eun Jo are lost in the forest. No food, no water, no warmth, and no cell reception. What to do, what to do?

Oh, but look! Eun Jo saves the day by pulling out a blanket, and food and water! You guys still have a chance at survival!

Oh no! Scary noise and rustling of leaves has scared Ha Ni. But don't worry, Eun Jo will protect you! (Eun Jo is so cute with such a serious expression ^^)

Thank god! It's only Seung Jo. Seung Jo has come to save the day yet again! It's like a dream come true: a prince in shining armor comes out in the middle of the night to rescue you from your...doom~ Why doesn't this happen in real life? >.<

The last scene at the end of the episode. It really got me wondering what in the world is happening here. Ha Ni just woke up from her dream of kissing Seung Jo, but the dream feels so real that she has a sort of tingling sensation on her lips (presumably because of Seung Jo). But, Eun Jo is standing there, looking pretty shocked and out of breath. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED HERE?! @.@ Something's wrong with this picture...
