Basically, it’s the Chinese version of Britney Spears’ Everytime. Apparently Britney Spears’ company gave S.H.E. permission to use the song and translate it into Chinese.
Anyways, both versions are incredibly beautiful. First of all, I love the music, and I must say, I was quite surprised to find out that she actually composed it. It most definitely is my type of music: beautiful instrumental; it could very much be turned into a lullaby if she wanted to. Her composition skills have surpassed my expectations and renewed my…respect for her to a certain extent, you could say.
However, I feel S.H.E.’s voices are a better match for the background music (not to say that Britney Spears’ singing is bad or anything). It IS her song, so the emotions put into singing it would be more genuine and closer to the message that she is trying to convey. But her voice seems to be more husky and not as clear as the Taiwanese band members’ voices.
Unfortunately, because of difficulties in translating between languages, the song lost some of its poetic-ness. Nonetheless, the meaning is still basically the same: a person unable to forget that significant other who was once in her life.
P.S. I must say, this song did help me focus and calm down when I was stressing for final. And…maybe it did lull me to sleep once or twice ^^”
